Nitrogen (IG-100) is a chemically inert gas naturally present in the atmosphere. Its greenhouse effect is zero, and its ozone layer depletion potential is zero.
Its non-conductive property is coupled with its colourless, odourless and flavourless characteristics, and because of its non-corrosiveness, it may be used at normal temperatures with materials such as nickel, steel, stainless steel, copper, brass, bronze and plastics.
Nitrogen (IG-100) suppression systems function based on the principle of reducing oxygen concentration inside the protected hazard. This reduces oxygen’s ability to support combustion to a specific level.
Its uniform and quick distribution within the enclosed area upon discharge achieves design concentration in 60 seconds.
